Growing a Greener Future: Our Environmental Legacy

At Kowhai Vet, our passion for care extends beyond animals—it embraces the whole environment we all share. That’s why we’re proud to be featured in a Trees That Count article, celebrating how a small vet clinic can make a big impact in restoring native forests in Aotearoa.

How One Small Vet Makes a Big Difference

The article spotlights Kowhai Vet’s initiative of planting a native tree for every new patient. It beautifully captures our belief that even small actions—like one tree planted at a time—help nurture biodiversity and strengthen our connection to nature. We’re humbled that our mahi was chosen to inspire others, showing that care for our planet can—and should—grow alongside care for our furry patients.

Thanks to your support and our ongoing commitment, our Trees That Count profile continues to grow. Though exact numbers are not publicly listed per page, we contribute regularly—especially visible on the Kowhai Vet profile page—showing our most recent four contributions to native reforestation projects.

As of today:

  • We plant a native tree for every new patient registered.
  • We support local restoration efforts in our region by contributing monthly.
  • Our clinic is part of the community actively helping grow Aotearoa’s unique flora and habitat.

How You Can Help

You don’t have to be a clinic to contribute! Visit our Trees That Count profile to see our planting history or donate directly to native reforestation. Together, we can grow a legacy that extends well beyond our doors—including forests generations will enjoy.
